This policy is written to comply with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR), the Data Protection Act 2018 and the EU General Data Protection Regulation (EU GDPR) where applicable to visitors from the European Economic Area.

Upright Insight Ltd is the data controller for the personal data described in this policy, meaning we determine how and why it is processed.
2. What personal data we collect
We collect personal data only when you choose to provide it to us directly, specifically when you complete and submit the contact form on this website. The fields collected are:
- Name
- Organisation (where provided)
- Email address
- Message (the content of your enquiry)
We do not use analytics software, tracking pixels, advertising cookies or any other background data-collection technology on this website. We do not collect any personal data automatically through your general browsing of the site. For more detail on this, see our Cookie Policy.
3. How and why we use your data
We use the personal data you submit via the contact form solely to:
- respond to your enquiry;
- correspond with you about a potential or existing professional engagement; and
- maintain a record of that correspondence for ordinary business administration purposes.
The lawful basis for this processing is our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries made to us and administering our business relationships (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(f)). Where an enquiry leads to a formal engagement, processing may also be necessary for the performance of that contract (Article 6(1)(b)).
We do not use your data for automated decision-making or profiling, and we do not sell, rent or trade your personal data to any third party for their own marketing purposes.
4. Who we share your data with
We use a small number of third-party service providers to operate this website and correspond with you. These providers process personal data on our behalf as data processors, under their own terms and privacy policies:
| Provider | Purpose | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Formspree, Inc. | Processes and delivers contact form submissions to us by email | Formspree’s servers are located in the United States. Submission records are retained on Formspree’s systems for up to 30 days under our current plan, after which they are automatically deleted from Formspree’s platform. See Formspree’s Privacy Policy. |
| Hostinger International Ltd | Hosts this website and our business email account | Hostinger may process and store data, including the content of correspondence sent to our email account, on servers located within and outside the European Economic Area. See Hostinger’s Privacy Policy. |
Where personal data is transferred outside the UK or EEA by our processors, appropriate safeguards (such as Standard Contractual Clauses) are relied upon by those providers, as set out in their own privacy documentation linked above.
We do not otherwise share your personal data with any third party, except where required by law, regulation or a valid legal process.
5. How long we keep your data
We retain correspondence arising from contact form submissions for as long as reasonably necessary to respond to your enquiry, to maintain a record of any resulting business relationship and to meet our own legal, accounting or administrative obligations. Where no ongoing relationship results from an enquiry, we aim not to retain personal data for longer than is reasonably necessary for these purposes.
As noted above, Formspree automatically deletes submission records from its own systems after 30 days regardless of our own retention practices for the resulting email correspondence.
6. Your rights
Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you;
- Rectification of inaccurate or incomplete data;
- Erasure of your data, in certain circumstances;
- Restrict or object to our processing of your data, in certain circumstances;
- Data portability, where technically feasible; and
- Withdraw consent at any time, where processing is based on consent.
To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at hello@uprightinsight.co.uk. We will respond within one month, as required by law.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the UK’s supervisory authority, the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), if you believe your data has been processed unlawfully.
7. Data security
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect the personal data submitted to us, including relying on the security measures implemented by our hosting and form-processing providers, such as encrypted (HTTPS) data transmission. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Children’s privacy
This website and the services described on it are directed at businesses and professionals. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children, and the contact form is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 18.
9. International visitors
This website is operated from the United Kingdom and this policy is written with UK and EU data protection law in mind. If you are accessing this site from outside the UK or EEA, please be aware that your information may be processed in the UK and by processors located in other countries as described in Section 4, and by using this site or submitting the contact form, you consent to this transfer, storage and processing.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for legal or regulatory reasons. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page indicates when this policy was last revised. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
